Local Updates
As part of an experimental six-month scheme, Eversley Road and Frogmore are now one-way. Whilst the new road markings and signs have been put in place, vehicles are still travelling against the flow of traffic. I can appreciate change comes with some difficulties, and a settling in period, so please share this information with other residents. Please take care and adhere to road signage at this location. This has been arranged by our local councillors to reduce congested traffic in these areas. We will also be patrolling to ensure the new road measures are adhered to.
We have been alerted to young persons causing damage at the old Parkway Residential Home in Sketty. Footage has been captured of these persons pulling pipes and smashing windows at the rear of the property. I am aware the building is unoccupied, however under repair, with future plans in place. It unsafe for anyone to enter the grounds. We are looking into this matter further, patrols continue to prevent any anti social behaviour or damage.
Cold Callers still persist in the Sketty area. Door to door tradesmen have targeted an elderly male, managing to get £350 in cash, for jobs not completed, they have become intimidating to vulnerable residents. Again, I urge you not to open your door to anyone you do not know, even if they appear to be friendly, helpful or you need a job doing … Say No!
Phone scammers are always trying their luck, never provide your details. Your bank will not call you. do not engage, terminate the call immediately.
The cold weather is upon us, and with that comes lovely frosty mornings. However, never leave your car unattended while it “defrosts” A perfect opportunity for car thieves! Also, allow extra time for your journey, ensuring you have clear visibility through the windscreen and mirrors.
Christmas is fast approaching with lots of lovely events locally, I will be advertising these on South Wales Listens, as either myself or my colleague will be attending, for any questions you may have, come and chat with us, or attend one of our Cuppa with a Copper events, that are set up around various venues in Sketty, where we can discuss any issues you may be experiencing.
Stay Safe Diolch Mel
